The Presenters:
James Grazko
is Vice President and General Manager of Underwriting and Contract Services for Premera Blue Cross.
Grazko has oversight responsibility for pricing and underwriting for all health, life, disability and
stop loss products in Washington, Alaska, and Oregon. He also oversees production of group, member
and provider contracts in his role as General Manager. Grazko provides strategic direction to the
Underwriting and Contract Services departments in support of Premera’s mission and business objectives.
Prior to joining Premera, he served as Director of Underwriting for Health Net, where he was responsible
for creating underwriting policy and procedures for the company’s western region, and directing all
underwriting and pricing activity in three western states.
Jack C. McRae
is Premera’s Senior Vice President of Congressional and Legislative Affairs. In this capacity, he
is responsible for federal and state government relations. Prior to joining the company in 1994,
McRae served as Chief of Staff for United States Senator Slade Gorton. McRae has more than thirty
years experience in public affairs and government relations, spending 10 years as Director of Public
Affairs for PACCAR, Inc., a Fortune 200 company, where he developed the government relations, media
relations and employee communications departments.
