Panel Presentation

HR leaders from employee benefits and employee experience, a population health consultant, and licensed psychologist will discuss and educate agents and brokers on Quiet Quitting (and/or the great resignation). 

Topics to cover include:

  • Impacts on employees
  • How to utilize employee benefits to ensure people’s needs are supported 
  • How can employees be the best version of themselves at work
  • Understanding what benefits and resources they have
  • Creating a space where people feel safe to use their benefits in order to be well.

The focus will be on the use of benefits to pulse employee wellbeing, utilize EAP and mental health resources, take advantage of employee experience benefits and vendors, time off policies, and the utilization of navigation tools as well as manager training to best identify the most appropriate benefits and resources.

Employee well-being, employee engagement and organizational culture 

Our second presentation features Dr. Laura Hamill who will address the importance of how benefits professionals can - and should - do more to align and drive the organizational culture within their client’s company.

Topics to cover include:

  • What is organizational culture, really?
  • Why should you care about it, especially as a benefits professional?
  • How does culture connect to creating a more human workplace?
  • US Surgeon General’s report on Workplace Mental Health and Well-Being
  • What cultural attributes do your company’s benefits reinforce for your clients?
  • How do you transform culture? Intentional culture circle
  • What are 3 practical things you can do today to be more aligned?

  PANELISTS:

Erika McKenzie: Erika has over a decade of industry experience, and expertise in health promotion, strategic planning and program development, and analytics. She has a master’s degree in Public Health with a focus on Community Health Education, and has worked on the vendor, carrier, provider, and broker sides of the industry. She is passionate about health and well-being and creating innovative, meaningful, and engaging solutions for clients and their employees.


Julie Baker: Senior Director of Employee Experience at Siteimprove, has worked in the field of organization development for over 20 years with over 5 years focused on the talent systems and employee experience. She is loves connecting dots across the talent ecosystems to maximize impact through integration.


Mary Lasky: Mary Lasky is an employee-centered leader with extensive experience leading the development and implementation of benefits programs that attract talent and optimize the employee experience. As the director of benefits for Accolade, she designs and oversees programs related to medical, dental, vision, retirement, time away, mental health, financial wellbeing, caregiving, disability, life insurance and voluntary benefits. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and dog, owns 4 different kinds of bicycles and is always up for an adventure. 


Lindsay Christianson: Lindsay Christianson, MA, LMHC, LPC is a licensed therapist and speaker. She helps people have a strong relationship with themselves so they can experience rich, fulfilling lives. She is trained in Bowen family systems, EMDR, HeartMath, and breath work. 



Laura Hamill, PhD: Dr. Laura Hamill is an organizational psychologist and business leader, focusing on the intersection of science and HR. Laura is an expert on creating great places to work. Her research is centered around employee well-being, employee engagement, and organizational culture. 

Laura is the owner of Paris Phoenix Group, a consulting firm specializing in driving impactful research and outcomes. In her consulting business, Laura has had the opportunity to work with numerous organizations to assess and transform their cultures. Laura was also a co-founder of Limeade, an employee experience software company, where she held the dual roles of Chief People Officer and Chief Science Officer. Before Limeade, Laura worked at Microsoft as the Director of People Research.

She is a sought-after thought leader and speaker – having keynoted at major tech and HR conferences and featured in Fast Company, Forbes, HR Executive, Inc., NPR, SELF, US News & World Report, and other top HR publications. Laura is also a host on the Happy at Work podcast, where she interviews organizational leaders, Human Resources professionals, and positive psychology researchers to create more positive workplaces. Laura also is writing a book with The Economist about organizational culture to be published in 2024.
